Nowadays, Google is the go-to browser for the vast majority of people around the world. But, search as a whole is on a bit of a decline. This isn’t to say that Google is doing bad given that ad rates have skyrocketed over the past several years and advertisers take online marketing more seriously than ever. With that being said though, we have less of a need to search on a daily basis. If we’re looking for some sort of tutorial or walkthrough, most of us would prefer to watch a YouTube video on it and then read an article. Similarly, much of the news we consume nowadays comes from social media platforms like YouTube and TikTok as opposed to Google. So, the purpose of Google has been relegated to simply accessing quick information. But, the need for this is also shrinking rapidly. Chatbots like ChatGPT and Google Bard reduce the need to manually search and comb through articles ourselves. So, it looks like the days of traditional searching are quickly becoming a thing of the past. This video explains the decrease in search interest around Google and covers the main factors that could be leading to this decline.
