At their first developer conference, OpenAI revealed major updates coming to ChatGPT. This includes GPT 4 Turbo – an enhanced model with a context window up to 128,000 tokens, making it vastly more capable. It’s also faster, more affordable, and has access to training data up to April 2023.
GPT 4 Turbo is now available via the OpenAI API, along with new computer vision and other capabilities. Soon, ChatGPT will automatically leverage different models like DALL-E in the background without needing to select them.
For developers, Copyright Shield provides legal protection for API-based apps. The new Assistant API also makes building AI-powered apps easier.
One groundbreaking update is GPTs – custom versions of ChatGPT specialized for tasks. Anyone can create GPTs for personal or business uses with natural language prompts rather than coding. Later this month, approved GPTs can be shared on the GPT Store and earn revenue.
GPTs represent the first “agent” AIs – advanced tools that can work autonomously on defined jobs. As GPTs roll out, they have the potential to transform how ChatGPT is used.
